Chair Nora Vargas pledged during her State of the County address Wednesday that the Board of Supervisors would remain focused on homelessness, housing and health care this year.

San Diego County Board of Supervisors Chair Nora Vargas Wednesday evening outlined the progress she and her colleagues made over the past year, including more housing, and helping migrants and those living on the street, in her second State of the County speech.

Chairwoman Nora Vargas delivered the annual address on Wednesday at Southwestern College, her alma mater.

During her interview with Univison regarding the recent rainstorm and floodings, Chairwoman Vargas emphasized the importance of preparedness and community safety. She highlighted the county's efforts to mitigate the impact of severe weather, including proactive measures and providing emergency assistance to affected residents.
